Nneka leaves Nigeria Idol

Award winning singer, Nneka Egbuna, would not be a
part of Nigeria Idol Season 5. Last year, the soul singer
replaced Yinka Davies as one of the judges of the
reality show sponsored by Etisalat.
Interestingly, Davies, who had been a judge on the
show in the first three seasons, is back the fourth time
with Dede Mabiaku and Dare Art-Alade, who were also
judges last year. This was revealed at a media launch
held in Lagos recently.
According to the Executive Director of Optima Media
Group (OMG), Nigerian Idol franchise owners,
Mrs.Ugochi Pedro, the reality show has established its
mark as a leading talent hunt platform that is
providing needed opportunities for budding music
stars to be discovered and nurtured for stardom.
"For five years running, we have been on this
interesting journey of changing lives and helping
people achieve their life dreams. The key thing for us is
to see these discovered talents become the real stars
they are designed to be. We are taking this
commitment to a new level this season. Nigerians can
expect many exciting moments ahead," she said.
On why Etisalat is sponsoring the show the fifth time
running, Director, Brand & Experience, Enitan Denloye
said it reflects the company's commitment to Nigerian
youths.
"Sponsoring Nigerian Idol is our way of helping
thousands of musically gifted Nigerian youths to live
their dreams, so we are very excited to announce that
we remain the headline sponsors of Nigerian Idol," he
said.
